First and foremost, I hope each of you and your families are well. This isn't a perfect situation, but we have learned from pandemics and hurricanes that there are silver linings for those with a keen eye, grit, and determination. Please let me or any of the management team know if we can help you in any way.

Today is the first day that I have been able to find reliable wifi. I've even had problems with texts. 

There has been lots of information shared in a variety of formats between the owners, agents, affiliates and myself.  I’d like to try to consolidate this for everyone’s reference. Also, if you have any useful information or advice for your fellow BHHS Preferred Agents, please post to our Preferred Realtors Private Group on Facebook. Management will use this as well. If you are not a member, please let us know so we can add you.


As I mentioned several times as we prepped for this storm, communication with your clients and sphere of influence is key to keeping in the real estate game. Your personal, caring touch by text, email, phone, DMs will be appreciated, remembered and establish you as someone who actually cares. I know most of you typically do this, but depending on your current situation, a little reminder never hurts.

Deposits, Commission Checks Etc.

Until we have electricity/internet, all checks need to be deposited by agents at Iberia Bank.

The two locations that we know are open are Causeway Blvd (northshore) and St Charles Ave. (southshore).

Britni will need a picture copy of the check, deposit slip, and receipt of deposit to process payments. Agents must endorse the back of the check with "For Deposit Only"
Agent must then send via email the above with the property address, we will check Skyslope and proceed from there. 

Return of Deposits for Sales & Cancellations

Agent has to notify Britni 48 hours in advance 
Britni will submit a wire transfer from our account to the title company or closing attorney
All wire instructions and property address must be submitted to Britni via email.

Pending Sales

Extensions are more than likely in order. Remind clients to consult their mortgage brokers and insurance agents as to how they are willing to proceed. Every case may be different, but you can help prioritize how your clients tackle getting to the closing title. Also, work with the other agent to mediate unreasonable sellers or buyers. It is probably in everyone's best interest to keep the deal together. Our Title Affiliate, Crescent Title is open and able to close cash deals as of yesterday.
